GIU International Christian Academy offers a variety of extracurricular activities, both during and after school hours. Every student at our school has the opportunity to get involved outside of the classroom.
During School Activities
- Student Council
The students experience leadership roles through the council. There are prefects who have responsibilities in different areas throughout the school and they make sure, with the help of other members, that their areas successfully run.
- Battle of the Books
The students are challenged to read books which are given to them through a reading list and they can participate in a yearly competition.
- Library Book Club
Every class has a Book Club time in the Discovery Library. There will students will come to understand the joy of reading. By making summaries of the books they read will positively benefit their English grade as well.
- International Culture Festival
The International Culture Festival is a bi-yearly festival in which the entire school comes together to prepare for. The event has been an awesome experience for both students and staff. We plan ahead of time so that the students learn and experience global societies, its culture, people, economics, lands, currency, natural resources, transportation, and scientific facts as well. The students will work on projects and make decorations about the various countries they are researching. They will also have the opportunity to show off their research and art works.
- Science Fair
GIU International Christian Academy seeks to achieve and accomplish to become an innovative science based school. Our modern technological science labs are well equipped for the students to do experiments and research. From the Primary level to SHS level, we encourage all the students to participate in science experiments or research for the fair. The fair is a chance to for the parents to come and enjoy their student‘s achievements and success.
After School Activities
The students will be able to experience and participate some sports activities
and games, such as: football, badminton, basketball, & volleyball.
The students will choose a musical instrument to learn and to make music to express their praise and feelings to the Lord
The fee will be involved is for the maintenance and upkeep of the instruments.

- Learning with Art
Your student will participate in an exploration of art, science, and cultures from around the world. Using their hands and their minds, students will connect with their inner artist and exercise their critical thinking skills. Students will have the chance to experience a variety of materials and they will have fun expanding their imaginations while creating projects like self-portraits, handmade journals, and up-cycled crafts. In “Learning with Art”, there is an emphasis on FUN, science, and cultural discovery!
- Board Games
Students at GICA will be able to enjoy various board games available at the school. Just by virtue of playing them, board games can teach important social skills, such as communicating verbally, sharing, waiting, taking turns, and enjoying interaction with others. Board games can foster the ability to focus, and lengthen your child’s attention span by encouraging the completion of an exciting, enjoyable game.
- HOFF (Helping Others For Fun)
This is our school’s unique club activity. Seniors help underclassmen academically and in other activities by pairing two students together. This club is run by the students and the students gain leadership skills as well as the ability to help guide younger students. Younger students also learn how to respect seniors.
The students of the club learn how to write good stories, essays, and poems. They also learn how to edit the stories and do some graphic design to produce a school magazine and newspaper.
- Spelling Bee
The children practice the vocabularies with roots of the words throughout the year and they participate in the Spelling Bee competition.
- Origami (Paper Folding)
Origami is the art of paper folding. Using paper, the children can create art of various kinds. They can learn how to fold animals, flowers, clothes, hats, balls, pockets, vehicles, and etc. It has long been known that origami has many benefits in developing hand-eye coordination, sequencing skills, attention skills, patience, temporal spatial skills, math reasoning etc.
This club uses special origami paper from which we have to import from abroad. Therefore, there is a cost associated with the origami club. Please contact the Programme Manager, Ms Eugenia
